This copy is inscribed (in French) to the author's dear collaborator and translator, and signed in full. The inscribee could be none other than Charles H. Kerr, founder of the oldest socialist publishing firm in the US; Kerr translated many of the works he published, LaFargue's among them. LaFargue was married to one of the daughter's of Karl Marx, and was an important radical theorist and critic of his time. He and his wife Laura died by suicide pact in 1911. 006086
