Tomus I, xvi + 338 pages, including index. Tomus II, xxii + 281 pages. Leather spines with gilt titles and tooling; marbled boards. Title page vignettes; headpiece and decorated initial at the beginning of each book. There is some dampstaining in each volume, and light foxing; the boards are abraded at the corners. Antoine Dadin, (1602 - 1682) was a distinguished French historian and canonist, dean of the faculty of law at the University of Toulouse. The church awarded him a pension as a reward for his defense of ecclesiastical jurisdiction. His confutation of Charles Fevret's "De Abusu" in which he defended the Church, wasn't published until the 1770s. These are the first two volumes of his Complete Works in eleven volumes. 005673
