Former owner name on paste-down endpapers; worn at joints and corners; small dampstain on top cover. Brashear, an astronomical instrument maker founded John A. Brashear Co.with his son-in-law and partner--the firm is now a division of L-3 Communications based in Pittsburgh. A 20" Warner-Swasey telescope with Brashear optics was displayed at the Panama-Pacific Exposition in 1915, and it is still in use at Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland California. 006665
